The Locomotive

This here is yet another central piece of the story, actually the train is how the entire Freakshow travels around the world and it had to be very distinctive as well as the characters are, so I figured it to be a vehicle and a character at the same time, in fact it needs the Freaks Magic too as it is its fuel.
With all that in mind, I started sketching some silhouettes, trying to incorporate a clown's head in the design, but after some of those the clown figure started emerging more and more from the locomotive shape, so it became clear that I liked that direction better; therefore i researched some photos of old jack-in-the-box toys as i was designing the locomotive, trying to convey a cursed aesthetic in the meantime. It turns out, the locomotive moves on his own and the puppet on top of it is its own engine driver.
